WEH ISLAND
Weh Island is famous for its ecosystem. On the coast of this island are habitat for big mouth shark animals and is the only one that has endangered frog habitat. Many coral reefs around the island is a habitat for various species of fish.
There are four small islands around the island of Weh, including Klah, Rubiah, Seulako, and Rondo. Rubiah Island is an island famous for its beautiful coral reefs, so Rubiah as a favorite place to dive.
Weh has 24,700 population based on the census in 1993. The tribe on the island are the Acehnese, Minangkabau, Javanese, Batak, and Chinese. The island's main religion is Islam.
Economical trade in Weh is dominated by clove and coconut. In addition, Weh island is also famous for ecotourism such as diving, mountain climbing and beaches, which are are the main attraction of Weh Island. To swim under the sea, the favorite location is the small village of Iboih. Meanwhile the one known for its coral reefs are not far Rubiah is Iboih.
