WONDERFUL BELITUNG
BELITUNG or BELITONG, was known as Billiton. This is an island in off the east coast of Sumatra, Indonesia, flanked by the Gaspar Strait and Karimata Strait. The word Belitung is taken from the local language means sea slug. Belitung Island is divided into two districts, namely Billiton District, with Tanjung Pandan as the capital area; and East Belitung district, with Manggar as the capital.

This island blessed with many soft and white sandy beach. It is alsos surrounded by more than 100 small islands. Almost all of them are decorated with white sand and granite rocks, and only a few are inhabited.
There is many beaches in this island. The 4 famous beaches are Tanjung Pendam Beach, Tanjung Tinggi Beach, Tanjung Kelayang Beach, and Jimbaran Beach.

There is an iconic old lighthouse was built by the Dutch in 1882 located in one of the Lengkuas island. Approximately 50 meters in height, it is as tall as a 12-storey building. The spectacle from this lighthouse offers 360 degree view of the fascinating Island and all the wonders that surround it, including the crystal clear waters and other spreading tiny islands.
